Officers of the Fresno Police Department arrested four suspects, including one woman from Ridgecrest, on Saturday, April 21, following a drug bust. According to reports, Silvia Ochoa, 39, had her five children in the vehicle with her, along with 11 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

According to a press release from the FPD, the Southeast Special Response Team learned of a drug transaction that would take place in an In-N-Out restaurant parking lot in Fresno.

Officers arrived at the parking lot just after 6 p.m. where they located the suspected vehicle and contacted Ochoa, Daniel Gonzales, 31, of Los Angeles; Joseph Sanchez, 31, of Downey;Ruben Hernandez, 19, of Los Angeles and the five minors belonging to Ochoa and Gonzales.

Police found the methamphetamine, valued at $100,000, in a large duffel bag and said Ochoa and Gonzales were looking to sell it to Sanchez and Hernandez.

Ochoa and Gonzales were arrested for possession of meth for sales and felony child endangerment, Sanchez was arrested for numerous drug-related offenses and Hernandez was arrested for numerous felony warrants, police said.

“Gonzales and Ochoa endangered the lives of their children by placing them in harm’s way as they attempted to exchange 11 pounds of meth for cash,” said a FPD spokesperson. According to the release the children, ages six months to 14 years, were placed in the care of the Fresno County Department of Social Services.
