Frankie Petty

Frankie Daniel Lee Petty passed away April 18, 2018, in the Antelope Valley Hospital from complicated health issues.

Frankie was born in Loma Linda and grew up in San Diego. He moved to Ridgecrest in his senior year of high school.

He joined the Navy and served his country from 1965-67. He went to work in Trona and met the love of his life, Sandie Sellars.?He married her in 1969 and adopted her two children, Sue and Steve. Years later he had Gary.

Frankie then went to school and became an air conditioning refrigeration mechanic. He worked for Montgomery Ward’s and later went to work for the base in Public Works. He worked 28 years for the government, then retired and moved to Las Vegas. He worked for McCarran International Airport and retired in 2009 to come back to Ridgecrest to take care of his parents.

Frankie loved God and attended many different churches over the years. He was very outgoing and loved to make people laugh at the many stories he liked to tell.

He was preceded in death by his son Gary Petty, mother Joyce Petty, father Nelson Petty and sister Freda Petty.

He is survived by wife Sandie, daughter Sue (Cedric), grandchild Joseph, sister Danita (Steve), sister Lola and lots of nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. A reception will follow at 509 N. Corey.
