Auditions open for new mystery

Auditions for “Famous Last Words” will be held Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, from 5-7 p.m. at Red Rock Books.

The latest offering from Master Mystery Productions will help launch writer-director Daniel Stallings’ first mystery novel, “Sunny Side Up.” The performance is scheduled for July 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the local bookstore.

“Set in present day, the interactive mystery show focuses on true crime writer Sabrina Watts who planned to reveal startling new facts in the celebrated and scandalous McGregor homicide case,” said Stallings.

“A hit-and-run accident stopped her words from ever getting out. Now, at the book signing for his new mystery novel, Marcus Watts, Sabrina’s husband, makes the announcement for her — he found her notes on the case and plans to finish the work she started. Those might be famous last words as an attempt on his life is made shortly thereafter, proving that the McGregor case is far from sleeping quietly.”

The audition is open to all, and no prior theatrical experience is necessary.

Auditioners will be asked to read selected passages from the script. The production seeks to cast four females and three males. Actors must be 15 or older, and anyone younger than 18 must have parent or guardian permission to participate and in attendance at rehearsals.

Rehearsal dates will be arranged based on actor availability. For more information, visit or Master Mystery Productions on Facebook.
