Hampton retires after 35 yearsAlan Hampton, who is retiring from his position as head of the Weapons Components Engineering and Test Branch at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, receives the flag flown in honor of his 35 years of service during a ceremony March 5 at China Lake. Hampton joined NAWCWD as an electronics technician trainee through the co-op program. He has supported the Sidewinder program his entire career through product verification test firings, an assignment at Edwards Air Force Base supporting integration efforts as well as logistics for Sidewinder foreign military sales. Some of his most notable awards include a letter of commendation for logistics support, a letter of appreciation for AIM-9M weapons integration and several letters of appreciation for technical issue identification, isolation and resolution. — U.S. Navy photo by Paul Kakert
