Myrtle Weisenhaus

Myrtle Weisenhaus 96 of Ridgecrest, formerly of Lisbon, N.D., died peacefully on March 2, 2018, at the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital in Ridgecrest.

She was born May 12, 1921, to Henry and Stella Hoganson in Ransom County near Lisbon. She grew up on a homestead near Lisbon, attending Aliceton School and Lisbon High School and graduating in 1938. She married Lyle Weisenhaus in 1949, and they lived on a farm near Lisbon for many years. She worked at the Soldiers Home for many years as well as at the Bird Seed Factory.

Myrtle enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was active in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for many years. In 1994

she moved to Ridgecrest after her husband died to be with her daughter Harriet with whom she lived until her death. She had many friends and family around her, and she will be dearly missed.

Myrtle is survived by her daughter Harriet and son-in-law Steven Kawelmacher, a brother Lawrence Hoganson of Park Rapids, Minn., a sister Geraldine and son-in-law Dick Burchill of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and brother-in-law Vernon Thomson of Lisbon.

Myrtle was proceeded in death by her parents and first husband Maurice Keller, who was killed in World War II on January 8, 1945, near Luxembourg under General Patton. She was also proceeded by her second husband Lyle Weisenhaus, son Larry Keller and brother Raynold Hoganson.

Her graveside service will be on Monday, April 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon, N.D.. Lunch will follow at Armstrong Funeral Home in Lisbon.
