Haber — 40 years of service

Haber — 40 years of serviceRobert Haber, the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile deputy assistant program manager for logistics, was honored for 40 years of federal service during a ceremony at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake.

“Government service is a big deal in or out of uniform,” said Rear Adm. Brian Corey, NAWCWD commander, as he presented Haber’s award. “What I observe every day is that our experienced personnel continue to contribute, but also pass on lessons from the past and recognize that the world is changing. Thank you for continuing to serve.”

June 1983 marked Haber’s assignment to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 as an active duty Marine who had, not long before, completed avionics “A” school.

Just five years later, Haber joined the AV-8B Joint Systems Support Activity as a civilian and flight test engineer. Since then, he has supported the F/A-18 Advanced Weapons Lab, switched over to Logistics in support of the Joint Direct Attack Munition program and Joint Standoff Weapon and currently theJoint Air-to-Ground Missile.

“We’ve had a great life here,” Haber said, referencing his wife, Anne, who was in attendance. “We love coming to work every day, and we like working with everybody. It’s been an enjoyable 40 years, and I remember it all still.”
