Local author to sign novel

Local author to sign novelLocal Christian romance-mystery writer Brian Voigt will sign copies of “Red Hail Falling,” his latest book, on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Red Rock Books.

“Red Hail Falling” is the sequel to “Purple Rain on Dogwood Lilies.” The second book is available for $14.99. Both books can be purchased for $25.

The setting is the small town of Markleeville in Alpine County, California. However, Voigt said, the geography of both books traverses a large area extending from Lake Tahoe to our very own community.

“When we made a decision to return to Ridgecrest in 2008, my family decided to travel to all of the attractions that surround the Indian Wells Valley, including Tehachapi, Death Valley, Lone Pine, Manzanar, Bishop, Laws and Mammoth.

“We took two years visiting each of those places. During those travels I realized that I wanted to write about these areas.”

The series follows a federal investigation into the Russian Mafia and its activities in the Sierra Nevada.

Voigt can be contacted at brian@brianvoigt.com, and you can find his books online at brianvoigt.com and on Facebook at Brian Voigt: Sierra Novelist.

All of Voigt’s novels are available on Amazon.
