City honors the late Reverend HearnCity Manager Ron Strand presents an award of remembrance to the family of the late Reverend Douglas Hearn. Receiving the plaque is Hearn’s daughter Michelle with her two children – Tyray Smith and Zarah Maudlin – and friend of the family Brittney Bailey. Hearn was a police officer before becoming a pastor and served as police chaplain to the Ridgecrest Police Department for 16 years. “He was a great confidant. He was a man you could talk to, and he had a lot of wisdom,” said Strand. “Your father was a wonderful man and will be remembered forever.” — Photo by Laura Austin
