Indian Wells Valley Water District General Manager Don Zdeba has reported that water district customers are continuing the trend of reduced water consumption compared to several years ago. In summer 2016 the IWVWD Board of Directors approved a 20-percent conservation target (compared to 2013 figures).

The month of January 2018 saw only a 14.3-percent reduction, compared to 26 percent in January 2017. “Mild winter weather is surely influencing the results,” said Zdeba, who added that customers have still managed to maintain a cumulative 20.6-percent reduction since the target was established.

The board will hold its regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 12, 6 p.m. at the Water District Office, 500 W. Ridgecrest Blvd. The meeting agenda was not released at press time but will be reproduced on the district’s website, iwvwd.com.
