Community Light Opera and Theater Association will present a Reader’s Theater Performance of Mark Twain’s” The Diaries of Adam and Eve” on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10, at 7 p.m. at the CLOTA Center Stage.

The play, adapted for the stage as a one-act play by David Birney, gives Twain’s unique storytelling spin to the oldest story in the Bible.

Newly elected CLOTA Vice President Josh Cotterell is making his directorial debut with the production. He said he wanted something different than a typical reader’s theater, where the performers read the script in character, and added movement and props.

His actors spent time memorizing the script, in order to make it more like a full stage production. But as the stories are being told through Adam and Eve reading their diaries, there will still be some reading of the entries.

Adam and Eve are being portrayed by local theater veterans Ben Bockhahn and Brianne Hardwick.

Tickets for the fund-raising performance are available for $10 each at Red Rock Books and at the door. CLOTA Center Stage is located at 1425 N. Inyo St.
