Cecile Blanch BoswellCecile Blanch (Richardson) Boswell, 100¾ years old, returned to her heavenly home on Jan. 24, 2018.

She was born in Santa Barbara, the eldest of two children. She was grew up, married Samuel Austin Boswell (1936) and raised two daughters in Pasadena. She has resided in Ridgecrest since 1978.

Ceal has had a long, exciting life. She worked for California Electric and volunteered with the schools, church and senior activities during her many years. She was a social person who always had time for other people. She and Sam were members of a bowling league for many years, were in various church study groups, attended senior exercise classes, oil painting classes, etc. She enjoyed traveling from camping and hurting trips to cruises — any time someone said, “Let’s Go,” she was on her way! Family was a huge part of her life — she enjoyed being a part of their lives, daily activities and always ready for a family meal out.

Ceal is survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Richardson of Cape May, N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gordon Garrett of Denver, Colo.; son-in-law, Don Siler of Ridgecrest; 10 grandkids; 17 great grandkids; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by husband Sam in 1988, brother Jesse in 1998 and daughter Lynnette in 2010.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 9:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity.
