Edward J. Quinn

Edward J. QuinnEdward James Quinn, 76, of Ridgecrest passed away Jan. 19, 2018, peacefully at his home with his family by his side.

Edward was born in Buffalo, N.Y., to James and Margretta Quinn on Dec. 9, 1941. He was married to his wife Linda for 52 years.

Edward moved to California in 1963. He and Linda started their printing business in 1970 in El Monte. In 1980 they moved the business to Ridgecrest. There it thrived well into the late ’90s. Throughout the years they would go into the radio-controlled hobbies business, then later the furniture business and most recently carports.

Edward continued to run his business until mere days before his passing.

In his youth, Edward was a championship-level short-track speed skater. He won many titles throughout the northeast, along with his father and sister Jackie.

Before leaving the Buffalo area, Edward joined up as a pit crewmember for one of the most successful supermodified racing teams in the northeast. There he developed his passion for motorsports. After his move to California, he began building and driving racecars himself. He was also very involved in promoting auto racing and worked for many tracks and racing organizations as a racing official.

His love for racing has passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Above all Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always putting his family first.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Lia Sensanbaugh; son Daniel Quinn with wife Aarin; sisters Jackie Williams with husband Dennis and Patti Williams with husband Nelson; grandchildren Justin Quinn with wife Shannon, Cassidy Quinn and Edward Quinn; and great-grandchildren Ozzie, Johnathon, Jaycob, Bradley and Austin.
