Michael Edwards Krasselt

Michael Edwards KrasseltServices with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery will take place Feb. 20, 2018, at 3 p.m. for Michal Edwards Krasselt.

Michal Edwards Krasselt passed away on Feb. 15, 2016, in Akron, Ohio. She was born in Oakland on Dec. 2, 1949.

Her parents moved to Ridgecrest in the early 1950s for work at China Lake. During her teen years she belonged to Rainbow for Girls and served as a state grand officer.

Michal graduated from Burroughs High School in 1968 and had her only daughter, Kendra, a year later. Michal became a single parent, but still pursued her dreams.

She entered the U.S. Army and served four years and then became a government civil servant while going to college. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Colorado Christian University in Colorado Springs.

Michal volunteered with Rainbow Girls again later in life, supporting her daughter, where she met the love of her life, Timothy Krasselt, and married in 1990. They spent 25 years together before her death. They traveled to Europe and Morocco as well as taking their grandsons to Disneyland. Michal’s mother, Blue, moved to Arizona in 1997, and the three of them made quite a team.

Michal loved family and cherished her grandsons. After the death of her mother, she moved to Ohio to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. She found another passion, working for the Veterans Administration and with her fellow veterans.

Michal’s faith in God helped her in the last months of her life. She drew strength and peace from His word. Now she is at peace in His arms.

Michal is survived by her husband, Timothy Krasselt; daughter, Kendra Egert; grandsons Joshua and Zachary; and nieces Robin Henderson, Courtney Henderson, Deeana Henderson, Nancy Minick, Jacquie Minick and Diana Klinger. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Bob Igou; and her parents, Gene and Bennie (Blue) McClendon Edwards.

Condolences may be sent to Kendra Egert 1554 Hunters Lake Dr., East Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
