’Kit and the Kats’ perform Tuesday

’Kit and the Kats’ perform Tuesday"It’s like turning the AM dial on your transistor radio...a delightful romp through the late ’50s—early ’60s."

The Indian Wells Valley Concert Association will host "Kit and the Kats" Tuesday evening, 7:30 p.m. at the Burroughs High School Parker Performing Arts Center.

Singers "Kit" (Laura Ellis) and her "Kats" (Nick Tubbs and Travis Leland), along with a four piece band, will rock and roll through dozens of hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Shirelles, Sam Cooke, The Beatles, Roy Orbison and others.

"Ellis is the lead and show creator. To put together the show, she interviewed people about that era and found that everyone had memories associated with specific songs," said representative Katherine Miller, Kamstar Artist Management. "That became the framework for the show that opens with songs, then evolves into courtship and romance, or course to the music of the times."

This is the IWVCA’s fourth concert this season, with two more tribute groups — The Beatles and John Denver — coming in February and April. For more information visit iwvca.tripod.com and see future editions of the News Review.
