Andrew Ivanivsky

Andrew IvanivskyAndrew (Andy) Ivanivsky passed away peacefully Dec. 25, 2017, at the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital after a long struggle with cancer. He was 78.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Gemma; his son Paul Ivanivsky; grandson Michael Ivanivsky; sister Helen Krzyzanowski, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ivanivsky and his parents Arsan and Tatiana Ivanivsky.

Andy was born Nov. 24, 1939, in the Ukraine. Two years later he and his family immigrated to the USA. He spent his early years in New York City. He earned a bachelor of science from NYU and later a master’s degree from Bakersfield.

He worked as an engineer for 30 years at the China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station. He supported many major programs and was awarded several patents. When he retired he spent a lot of time with his hobbies and enjoyed taking trips. Andy was a quiet and private person, and at his request we will have a private family service.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Bella Sera, Ridgecrest Regional Hospital and the Emergency Room for the compassionate care they provided.
