Music Teachers Association to perform Jan. 26The High Desert Music Teachers Association will present its annual concert Friday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Maturango Museum.

Performing musicians include Glenda Blackshaw (piano), Jordan Covert (guitar), Catherine Douglas (piano), Gary Fry (clarinet), Clare Hatter (violin), David Hodgson (baritone), Melanie Litton (flute), Melanie McDonald (piano), Lee Alan Nolan (piano), Laura Olinger (cello), Fran Rogers (cello), Anna Montgomery (violin), Mary Lee Thomas (soprano) and Debra Veit (flute).

The showcase will feature music by Bach, Allen, Finzi, Anna Schaad Montgomery, Haydn, Koelling, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Ravel.

Seats are abundant, but early purchase is encouraged. Tickets at $15 for general admission or $5 for 12 and younger are available in the museum store or online at

The private music teachers in HDMTA sponsor concerts and recitals, both solo and ensemble, throughout the year for their students. This annual concert at the museum is for the teachers to perform for the community.
