During the last Ridgecrest City Council meeting, Councilmember Lindsey Stephens announced that the city is in talks with multiple businesses with interest in coming to Ridgecrest.

Stephens said the Economic Development Committee heard updates earlier this month on discussions with Panera Bread, PetSmart and Ulta, a chain of cosmetics stores.

While Stephens didn’t divulge any locations or timelines, Panera Bread is reportedly interested in purchasing land for a local business. PetSmart and Ulta are still in preliminary talks.

She also mentioned that a 100+ room hotel is closing on a local land purchase and that we can expect to hear more soon.

At press time, Community and Economic Development Manager Phen Panpradith declined to comment, but said she would present more information at future EDC meetings.
