Wilma Frances ‘Billie’ Empert

Wilma Frances “Billie” Empert (nee Penney) of Saint Peters, Mo., died on Nov. 12, 2017. She was 83 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thaddeus J. Empert; cherished daughter of the late William F. Penney and Vivian G. Johnson; and devoted mother of Marc (Pam) Empert, Colleen (Calvin) Clayson, Terry (Bernard) Wilkerson and Dale (Mary) Empert. Also surviving her are 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; dear brother of Thomas Penney and other relatives and friends.

Wilma was also preceded in death by her brother Richard Penney, sisters Lois Keener and Corrine “Cory” Pollard and great-grandson Gregory Clayson.

Wilma was born in Chicago, Ill., and grew up in Santa Barbara. She retired from the Post Office, was a 4H Leader and a Cub Scout leader. A supporter of the SPCA, Billie grew up around horses and loved riding them. She loved classic movies, classic TV shows, coloring in adult coloring books, reading and painting. Billie had the most beautiful smile, was deeply loved and will be immensely missed by all who knew her.
