Chamber society to host Delphi Trio

Chamber society to host Delphi TrioThe Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society will host the Delphi Trio on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. in the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church.

The program will include music by Johannes Brahms (Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor, Opus 101), William Bolcom (Piano Trio), and Ludwig van Beethoven (Piano Trio in E-Flat Major, Opus 70, No. 2).

Praised for “spot-on ensemble playing and a beautifully blended sound” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and “rich, committed string tone, dazzling pianism, rhythmic flexibility, and risky tempi” (Sarasota Herald-Tribune), the Delphi Trio has become a powerfully eloquent voice in the world of chamber music.

Passionate educators, the members of the trio are on the faculty of the Crowden School’s summer chamber music programs, where the trio coaches and mentors musicians of all ages. Liana Bérubé, violin, Michelle Kwon, cello, and Jeffrey LaDeur, piano, are graduates of the University of Toronto, Stanford University and the Eastman School of Music, respectively. They formed the trio while studying in the chamber music program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

The Delphi Trio appears by arrangement with Ariel Artists, www.arielartists.com.

The trio will present school programs and a special performance at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Facility on Dec. 4.

Tickets to the chamber concert are $25 for general admission, $20 per senior and $5 per student or active-duty service person. Tickets are at Red Rock Books, the Maturango Museum and the door. To learn more see www.rc
