Residents and visitors stroll through rows of vendors during last weekend’s Petroglyph Festival. Although official numbers were not available, some speculated that unfavorable weather conditions led to a disappointingly low attendance. Maturango Museum Director Debbie Benson said that the weather prompted a few last-minute cancellations, but she and her crew still sent 140 out of 150 people out on tours of Little Petroglyph Canyon. “And the museum was busy and full all weekend,” she said. “Our speaker’s forum was very well-attended. I think the favorite was Bob Parker sharing live snakes and tortoises. The room was packed with children.” -- Photo by Laura Austin
