As Burroughs is entering Mid-October, there is so much planned for this month and so many activities that have already happened. On October 1st Burrough allowed students to take the ASVAB. A test which assesses the skills of students in regards to the military. The PSAT was also held last week, which prepares students for the SAT and gives them a way to see where they are at academically.

It was not all testing though, A Night of a Thousand Stars took place as well, a talent show which provides students a way to demonstrate their creative talents and abilities. Many students in clubs or extra curriculars also participated in the annual relay for life as a way to help out those who have been affected or fighting cancer.

B-Mountain, a senior tradition at burroughs, happened over the weekend where the class of 2018 paints a giant 18 on top of the mountain. Students have also been working hard in preparation for homecoming.

For the past couple weeks each class has been working on floats to represent the theme of this years homecoming , Hollywood Nights. Our spirit days this week consisted of Scary vs. Fairy in which we held the dodgeball tournament, Class Colors which is the day of the powderpuff game, Decades day, and blackout day, which is the day of the homecoming rally put on by the cheerleaders.

This Friday night we will have our homecoming game as well as the coronation for the homecoming court, and on Saturday we have our homecoming dance. The Burroughs school year has been going phenomenally and i’m excited to continue sharing it with you.
