CLOTA to present ‘War of the Worlds’

The Community Light Opera and Theatre Association, “as a special treat before we start putting the CLOTA Spookhouse together,” will perform the 1938 radio play “War of the Worlds” on Friday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Town Theatre on Ridgecrest Boulevard.

Admission is $10, and tickets are available at the door. Doors open for seating at 7 p.m.

The annual Spookhouse will be presented Oct. 27, 28, 29 and 31 from 6-11 p.m. A less-scary matinee will be offered Oct. 28 from noon to 3 p.m.

“As part of our giving back to the community, kids 10 and younger are free when accompanied by an adult,” said Larry Lier.

He said this year’s theme is “Hollywood Horrors 2,” featuring a look at some of the most famous scenes from scary movies.

“So come join us for two great events sponsored by CLOTA.”
