Fall street projects announced

The community will begin to see Ridgecrest’s Measure V tax dollars at work next month with a hefty schedule of street maintenance from Oct. 2-12. The following roadways will be under maintenance and repair during this timeframe:

In College Heights — Cielo Avenue from Norma Street to College Heights Boulevard, Del Rosa Drive from Javis to end of pavement, Smoke Tree Avenue from Del Rosa Drive to Desert Cassia Avenue, Desert Cassia Avenue from Mojave Rose Avenue to Cielo Avenue and Mojave Rose Avenue from Del Rosa Drive to Cielo Avenue.

At the base of the College Heights hill — Nancy Avenue from College Heights Boulevard to end of pavement, Kathy Avenue from Beasely Street to end of pavement, Beasley Street from Nancy Avenue to Kathy Avenue, Barbara Avenue from Beasley Street to end of pavement and Ann Court and Mandy Court from Barbara Avenue to cul-de-sac.

Near Pearson Park — Hermosa Avenue from Inyo Street to Luna Street and Luna Street from Hermosa Avenue to Vicki Avenue.

On the eastern end of town – Commercial Avenue from Sunland Street to Gateway Boulevard.

In the southwest of town, Ginger Avenue from Sunset Street to cul-de-sac, Bataan Avenue from Downs Street to Norma Street and Norma Street from China Lake Boulevard to Bowman Road.

Near LeRoy Jackson Park —French Avenue from China Lake Boulevard to Drummond Road and Las Flores Avenue from China Lake Boulevard to French Avenue.

Mahan Street will be under maintenance and receiving a fog seal treatment from Bowman Road to Springer Avenue and from Ridgecrest Boulevard to Ward Street.

The roadways will remain open during the resurfacing period with some periodic side-street closures and limited driveway access. The Public Works Department requests that motorists use alternate routes when possible from 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and thanks the public in advance.
