Students get hands-on lessons from NAWCWD scientistsMiddle schoolers get a hands-on physics lesson by launching water rockets they built themselves. Starting today, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade boys can register to watch fluid dance, make combustible candy and much more through hands-on workshops at the annual Young Engineers and Scientists! Conference Saturday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in McLean Laboratory at China Lake. Mentors from Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division will teach scientific principles with fun flair to the first 150 students to register.
