Verily R. Cubit

Verily R. CubitVerily Robert Cubit was born Aug. 31, 1945, to his proud parent, Katherine Cubit. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while on hospice care, June 19, 2017, after a number of years with multiple health issues. At his side was his wife Glenda of 45 years.

Verily was born in Eagleton, Okla., and spent his early childhood years on a farm with his grandparents Bob and Versie May Cubit and a very special cousin Delores Stafford. In his later years he moved to California where he met the love of his life, Glenda Pinchem, who he married in 1973. In 1979 they moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked for Atlantic Richfield Company . After he retired from ARCO, they moved back to California, where God added three beautiful children to their union, Hosanna Joy, Shareese Yvonne and Benjamin Kenneth.

Verily enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved those grandkids. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, walking, riding around town with his wife, singing and worshipping God with friends and sharing Jesus with others.

Verily is survived by his wife Glenda, son Benjamin and two daughters Hosanna and Shareese. Six grandchildren, Aiden Josiah, Shyrenity Rose, Khloe Leigh-Anne, Ja’mere Lamarcus and twins Keon’dre and Keon’tay also survive him, as do his precious mother Katherine Jones who is 95 years old of Oklahoma City and his precious mother-in-law Marietta Pinchem who is 89 years old. More survivors are his brothers Oscar and Reuben Jones and sisters Versie Mae Campbell and Kathy Fontenot, all of Oklahoma. In addition he is survived by a host of family and friends far and near.

A celebration of the wonderful life he lived will be held Saturday, July 1, at 11 a.m. at Desert Christian Center. David Schad will officiate.
