GSA to appoint committee members next week

By BRIAN COSNER, News Review Staff Writer

The Indian Wells Valley Groundwater Authority has received some two dozen applications from potential Policy Advisory Committee members and the IWVGA plans to have selected 14 committee members by it’s regular meeting on Thursday, June 15.

That was the word from Kern County Chief Deputy CAO for Water Resources Alan Christensen. This number includes members from four organizations that have already been approved to the PAC – Meadowbrook Farms, Mojave Pistachio, Searles Valley Minerals and the East Kern County Resource Conservation District.

The IWVGA is the Groundwater Sustainability Agency for the IWV basin under the state’s California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. It meets regularly on the third Thursday of each month, 10 a.m. at City Hall. For agendas and more information visit
