Jim Gregory dies en route to RidgecrestAs he was being flown back to the home and the friends he loved, pioneering entrepreneur Jim Gregory died Tuesday morning, May 16, in a private plane piloted by longtime flying buddy Paul Farris and his son, Tim.

Gregory was being transferred from hospice care in Gilbert, Ariz., where he had been receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center for advanced melanoma.

“His wife, Lois, was by his side on the plane, and the end was fast and peaceful,” said Jim Fallgatter, longtime friend of Gregory.

The community is invited to a celebration of his life Thursday, May 25, at 5 p.m. at Village Retreat — Gregory’s visionary development and one of his many contributions to the community.
