A 23-year-old Ridgecrest man was arrested on charges relating to buglary, violation of a court order and driving under the influence of drugs after Ridgecrest Police Department responded to a call in the wee hours of May 3.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., RPD received a report of a subject violating a restraining order at a residence in the 200 block of West Ward Avenue. Upon arrival, officers learned that Trey Troxell had contacted his ex-girlfriend — an apparent violation of a court-issued restraining order. He reportedly stole a television from her house before fleeing the scene before law enforcement arrived.

At approximately 5:50 a.m. that morning, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Norma Street in response to a rollover traffic collision. At the scene, officers discovered that the driver of the vehicle was Troxell.

Witnesses on the scene reported that Troxell was driving at a speed exceeding 60 miles per hour, while also running through red traffic lights. Officers also discovered the stolen television inside the vehicle, apparently undamaged.

Police report that Troxell was under the influence of methamphetamine while he was driving the vehicle. He was transported to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital to received treatment for his injuries and later booked into Kern County Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield for the above-listed charges.

According to the Kern County Court Calendar, Troxell is scheduled to appear at a Bakersfield hearing on Monday, May 1.
