Casting call for ‘Ode to Agatha’ mystery

An open casting call will be held this weekend for “Ode to Agatha,” the latest in the popular interactive stories by Master Mystery Productions.

The production team is teaming up with Ridge Writers once again for a new show that celebrates “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” — Agatha Christie’s first foray into the adventures of Hercule Poirot.

Set in 1940s England, the play will incorporate a game show format that allows guests to interrogate suspects during a traditional British fête filled with food and games.

“No theatrical experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome to try out,” invited writer-director Daniel Stallings, who will ask auditioners to read selected passages from his original script.

Roles are available for four females and two males. Actors must be 16 or older, and anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Auditions will be held Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, from 5-7 p.m. at Red Rock Books.

Stallings said his production will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the crime in the novel.

“Come help us create a wonderful tribute for the Queen of Crime!” said Stallings.
