New members sought for EKCRCD
The clerk of the Kern County Board of Supervisors announced this week that a second unscheduled departure has left another vacancy on the Eastern Kern County Resource Conservation District.
According to Kathleen Krause, Don J. McKernan resigned April 5 and Scott Shacklett resigned as of April 7. She is now accepting applications from county residents wishing to be appointed to EKCRCD board.
Interested applicants should file in writing with Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 1115 Truxton Ave., Fifth Floor, Bakersfield, CA. Each applicant should identify an interest in serving on the EKCRCD board and should include a name, address, telephone number, résumé of work and education experience demonstrating an interest in soil and water conservation and a brief statement of other qualifications. The applicant must also include a statement that he or she is a landowner or designated agent of a landowner residing within the area covered by the EKCRCD.
