Donna D. Williams
Donna Williams, longtime employee of the News Review, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Bella Sera. She was 84.
Services will be held Monday, April 10, 2 p.m. at Holland & Lyons Chapel. Bill Farris, Paul Farris and Dr. Larry Cosner will officiate. Interment is at Desert Memorial Park.
Donna was born Feb. 24, 1933 in Springfield, Ore. She moved to the area in 1972. For many years she was a close friend of the Farris family, and she worked for more than 40 years at various local businesses, including Kristy’s Family Resaurant, Farris’ restaurants and the News Review.
She was an adopted aunt and grandmother to dozens of grandchildren. She loved taking her young charges to thrift stores and garage sales in search of treasures, and will be remembered for the many parties she hosted for these youngsters.
She is survived by daughter Emily Andrea Gray of Seattle, son Todd Stuart Williams of Phoenix, sister Gwendolyn Wilson of Springfield, cousin Brenda Wilson of Portland and countless friends and adopted family. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Ruby McCart Olson.
In lieu of flowers, she desired donations be made to charitable organizations. Her children request donations be donated to Meals On Wheels, and they are also making a donation to Meals on Wheels in the name of the Farris family in appreciation for their constant care for Donna during her last days while battling Lymphoma.
