Two dead in separate traffic collisions

According to reports from the Ridgecrest Police Department and California Highway Patrol, two separate single-vehicle accidents resulted in pedestrian deaths recently.

Highway 395 was closed down near the intersection of Bowman Road while CHP was investigating an accident around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

According to reports, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi truck.

More details were not available at press time.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, RPD officers responded to the 800 block of North China Lake Boulevard where another pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 9 p.m.

Emergency responders rendered medical aid to the victim, 28-year-old Trevor Olsen, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
