Orman D. Marsh
Orman D. Marsh, 91, passed away on Feb. 3, 2017 in Ridgecrest, Calif. after a short illness.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Feb. 18 at Ridgecrest Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be at H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Ala.
Orman was born Sept. 18, 1925, in New Britain, Conn., to Willis and Clara Marsh. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces pilot training program from 1944-1945. In November 1945, he married Kathryn Bedsole of Montgomery. After attending Trevecca Nazarene College, he joined the United States Air Force from 1948-1953, and then returned to school at Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts before moving to Satellite Beach, Fla., two years later.
He spent the next 12 years working at Cape Canaveral for Douglas Aircraft Co., helping to launch Thor missiles and communication satellites. In 1968 the Marsh family moved to Montgomery, and he worked at Maxwell Air Force Base as an electronics technician. He also joined the USAF Reserves. After retirement, they moved to Ridgecrest.
Orman is survived by his daughter Judy, son-in-law Steve Smith, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, son David, sister Grace and parents Willis and Clara. He loved the Lord, his family, his church and his country. His life was a life well spent and devoted to the Lord his Savior.
