Classrooms cropping up at new Murray campus

Classrooms cropping up at new Murray campusThe crew of Columbo Construction erects the first of many classrooms on the new campus for Murray Middle School — located just west of the Burroughs High School campus and scheduled to open next fall. “The entire campus will consist of permanent custom modular construction,” said Christina Giraldo, who is overseeing the project for Sierra Sands Unified School District. The first building is three pods covering 15,300 square feet of space. The structures take approximately three days to assemble, then crews will install and apply finishing construction over the course of the following months. The new campus will include five buildings that will follow a similar process. Members of the public can follow progress at under the “Construction Cam” button. -- Photo by Laura Austin
