China Lake makes national news
Residents of the Indian Wells Valley are encouraged to tune in, or set their DVRs, to “60 Minutes” on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. to see the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake.
CBS News national security correspondent David Martin and a 10-person production crew spent six days in October filming test events and conducting interviews at China Lake.
“The story that brought ‘60 Minutes’ out to the Indian Wells Valley is about work that MIT/Lincoln Laboratory is doing with Perdix, micro unmanned aerial vehicles at NAWCWD,” said a spokesperson.
The segment on “60 Minutes” is expected to include an interview with Dr. Phil Roper, filmed on location at the Navy museum at China Lake.Story First Published: 2017-01-06
