NAWCWD camp students get test their piloting skills with flight simulatorsTwo Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division Science Camp students practice their landing skills using flight simulators during the camp, which was held in July at the China Lake Museum. Thirty five students from the “Moving on Up” daycare center participated in two three-day classes. The first class was for 10-year-olds and the second for 11-year-olds. Students learned about the science of flight, rockets, robots, quad copters and parachutes and took a field trip to China Lake’s Range Control Center and VX-31 at Armitage Field. Dr. Bob Smith taught Science Camp with extensive help from young NAWCWD employees and retired China Lakers. Science Camp is jointly sponsored by the China Lake Museum Foundation and NAWCWD through an educational partnership agreement. -- U.S. Navy photo by Frank Markarian
