Party patrol op nets two arrests
The Ridgecrest Police Department arrested two subjects during the course of its May 30 TAPPED (Teenage Party Prevention Enforcement and Dispersal) operation.
“Teen parties are one of the highest-risk settings for youth alcohol problems,” said Sgt. Justin Dampier. “Teens often drink at large parties with peers, almost all of whom are underage. These parties can lack adult supervision and can lead to serious problems, including impaired driving, rape, other forms of violence, vandalism and property damage.”
Four officers visited nine suspicious locations. Of the 120 individuals they came into contact with, two were arrested.
RPD officials said they have partnered with Alcohol Beverage Control to conduct a campaign of aggressive enforcement mixed with public education to limit access of alcohol to minors and improve the quality of life in the Ridgecrest community.
