Opera Guild’s ‘Operatic Overtones’ set for May 9-10

The Ridgecrest Opera Guild will present “Operatic Overtones” in the Historic USO Building, Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.

The outermost ends of vocal ranges will be explored as male and female opera singers combine their glorious voices to bring great operatic works to life for the High Desert community.

Music by Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Copland, Donizetti and more will come to life from performers including singers from the Ridgecrest Opera Guild, professional guest artists and Lee Alan Nolan on piano.

In March last year the Ridge-crest Opera Guild’s inaugural concert hosted back-to-back sold-out performances. In November the guild brought Puccini’s “La Bohème” to life with four performances at maximum capacity.

This May many Ridgecrest Opera Guild singers will return, along with professional singers three of whom were featured in November’s successful run of “La Bohème.”

The concert will start at 7 p.m., and tickets are at Red Rock Books, the Historic USO Building Gift Shop, Baxendale’s and at the door.

Ticket prices are $12 general admission and $10 for seniors, military, students and children 12 and younger.
