Obituary: Donna Mae Gonder
Donna Mae Gonder, 72, of Ridgecrest, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, after a well-fought battle with cancer. Her daughters were by her side.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 446 W. Church Ave., in Ridgecrest. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Donna was born on Sept. 15, 1941, in Flint, Mich., to Russell and Mary Roux. She married the love of her life, Ronald Gonder, and they had two daughters, Debra and Cathleen.
She began working at Naval Weapons Center in 1961 and retired in 1991, after 30 years of service. She loved playing Bingo and Bunco with her friends and was actively involved at the Senior Center in Inyokern.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ronald Gonder, and her parents, Russell and Mary Roux.
She is survived by daughters Debra and Cathleen of Ridgecrest and grandchildren Danielle, Savanna and Derek of Ridgecrest and Jordon and Sara of Pennsylvania.
Donna felt truly blessed to have so many friends who loved and supported her. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife, loving grandmother and valued friend. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
