To the Editor: Thanks for help with Community Christmas dinner

On Christmas Day the Knights of Columbus sponsored the annual free Christmas Dinner for those who would be alone, those in need, or just anyone who wanted to be there. It was open to all.

Special thanks to the many who donated food or money and those very many others, who cooked, served, delivered or helped clean up. Very special thanks to the families who shared their talent and performed continuous Christmas music. We also wish to express our appreciation to Woodchuck Express, Saint Ann School Parent Teacher Association, Albertsons China Lake Blvd., The Swap Sheet and Hayes Catering.

In the four hours the Christmas dinner was served, 641 dinners were prepared with 434 of those delivered to the home bound or taken out. Twenty-seven turkeys were deep pit barbecued.

About 125 pounds of ham and all the trimmings were made ready. The meal and the festive atmosphere combined to make those in attendance feel welcome and special.
