Mayor promised transparency

To the Editor:

It’s time to have our first elected mayor provide the “transparency” he promised in his election propaganda.

Why has our former City Manager, Kurt Wilson, filed a lawsuit against our city? He was appointed in 2010 and after two years he resigned reportedly to go to Stockton, which is a charter city. Hold that thought!

Why has he now filed legal action against Ridgecrest? Don’t ask, you won’t get answers. The Public Records Act GC 6250-6258 states that public rRecords are open to inspection at all times during office hours of the city.

Mayor Clark, in my opinion, has established a repressive, hypocritical, governing body with plans of becoming a charter city. Call us “Bellcrest.” He won’t answer questions or provide any information, and has continually (since his election) violated (in many people’s opinion) the public trust and his sworn accountability to the voters.

For those who have asked, Election Code 11005 through 11385 outlines the recall process.

It is time to stand up and demand answers from all our elected officials.
