High-energy flamenco ensemble visits Ridgecrest
Evolving from Gypsy and Spanish influences, the art of flamenco dance and guitar will be performed by the Jacome Flamenco Ensemble, Friday, Sept. 27, at Burroughs High School starting at 7:30 p.m. Flamenco is an art form and a way of life dating back to the 15th Century with fast footwork, haunting melodies and raw emotions.
“Brought to Ridgecrest by the Indian Wells Valley Concert Association, it is a rare opportunity to see and hear world-class musicians and dancers without traveling to Los Angeles,” explained Doris Lance, concert board member.
Individual tickets range from $18 to $22 and can be purchased at the Maturango Museum, Jeff’s Music Shop or Red Rock Books while supplies last. Season tickets for six musical performances are also available, ranging from $56 to $86.
