Oct. 5 cleanup to target China Lake Boulevard

RidgeProject is calling for community members to team up on Oct. 5 and set an example of what individuals can do to make living conditions better in our town.

As Calvin Coolidge said, “We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once.”

Project leaders are asking volunteers to step up for only four hours – from 7 to 11 a.m. – to do something at once on Saturday, Oct. 5.

China Lake Boulevard is the cleanup target, and volunteers are asked to bring powered garden tools, hoes, rakes, large clippers (for trimming shrubs), gloves, sunscreen, trash bags, trucks and trailers. Be sure to wear a hat!

If you plan to participate, please e-mail an RSVP to ridgeprojectca@gmail.com.

Also please advise RidgeProject if you have a truck and/or trailer available.

On Oct. 5 two sign-in stations will be in place, one at SpringHill Suites, 113 Sydnor St., and the other at Walmart, 911 S. China Lake Blvd.

“Please be sure to sign in at a booth and follow all instructions provided by RPD and PACT,” said a spokesperson.

Those unable to participate in the Oct. 5 cleanup, can get involved in three other ways: spreading the word about RidgeProject, volunteering to help with future projects on a variety of levels or lending a hand financially.
