Three robbery suspects arrested

Kenneth Kyle was visiting at a residence in the 100 block of West Wilson Avenue when he was allegedly assaulted by three suspects. On Sept. 15 police officers contacted Kyle in Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where he was being treated for injuries.
Kyle told officers he was ordered by three assailants to empty his pockets and give them his money. Kyle said he saw one of the subjects holding what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspects were alleged to have gotten away with $500 of Kyle’s money and his cellular telephone.
Officers obtained consent to search the residence and located a significant amount of evidence, including a “BB gun” replica handgun, from the scene. Based on the evidence, Officers Bockhahn, Agostinacci and Keys located and arrested suspects Leon Paul Lewis, Marquell Anttwon Harris Jr. and Pernell Antonio Howard, all of Ridgecrest.
Officers were able to recover most of Kyle’s money and his cellular telephone. The three suspects were transported to Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield and held in lieu of bail. Kyle was treated for his injuries and later released from RRH.
Lewis, 28, is being held on three felony counts of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and receiving stolen property. He is set to appear in court on Sept. 18 in Ridgecrest’s East Division. He is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.
