Frederick Paul Exzabe
Frederick Paul Exzabe died on Aug. 21, 2013 in Ridgecrest of natural causes. He was 64 and had been a Ridgecrest resident for 30 years.
A military funeral is set for Saturday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at the All Faith Chapel, China Lake. Father Dowd and Chaplain Horne will officiate. There will be an Honor Guard, with burial at sea.
He was born on June 25, 1949, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1975 and received the National Service Bronze medal, Silver Star, and Vietnam Service medals and campaign medals.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1979, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was also a bartender and cook and worked at at Ridgecrest Health Care, retiring in 2009.
Mr. Exzabe is survived by his daughter Beth Exzabe of Ridgecrest, son Mark Exzabe of Campbellsville, Ky., and granddaughter Leah Knierim of Ridgecrest. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Higa.Story First Published: 2013-08-28
