John Steven Foster
John Steven “Steve” Foster died Aug. 14, 2013. He was 61.
Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church, located at 235 N. China Lake Blvd. in Ridgecrest.
Steve was born on Dec. 24, 1951, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Columbus (Chris) and Margie Foster. He grew up in Bakersfield and attended West High School. He had a child, Johnny, with his high school sweetheart. After high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at Prosperity Recovery House in Washington State.
He married Shirley Faircloth. They had one child, Stacy, and later divorced.
Steve married Eunice Greer-Pennington. They had two children, Stephanie and Lance, and adopted foreign exchange student Pedro Saboia. After 14 years of marriage, Steve and Eunice divorced. After 14 years apart, they remarried. They had been married an additional 13 years when he passed away.
Steve worked for Desert Area Resources and Training until his health forced him to retire. He was also co-owner of Hairitage Salon with his wife, Eunice. He attended Cerro Coso Community College to earn his GED.
Family was very important to Steve. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Marge, brothers Roger and John and son John. He is survived by wife Eunice, daughter Stephanie and her husband James and son Lance and his wife Kimberly. He is also survived by grandchildren Brittain, Isabelle, Kadence and Liam Foster and Emily Saboia; honorary granddaughter Kayla Breeden; stepmother Virginia; sisters Linda Welch and Joyce Gray and brother Van.
Papa will be missed by all.
