School board to meet tomorrow

The Sierra Sands Unified School District’s Board of Edu-cation will meet Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 100 W. California Ave.

Among the items on the agenda are Back to School Night, review of Adult School Program offerings for the 2013-14 school year, a contract with Sanderson’s Health Services for services to Sierra Sands Special Education and grant award notification for the Federal Elementary School Counseling Grant.

Also on the agenda are approval of district/site safety training methods in response to recommendations by U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Kern County Threat Assessment Task Force, issues related to personnel, a contract with Sy-Tech Solutions for document management services, report related to change in state funding methodology and an agreement with Southern Sierra Boys & Girls Club for use of facilities at Gateway and Las Flores elementary schools.

The meeting is open to the public. Proceedings will be broadcast live on Mediacom channels 6 and 41, as well as streamed live on www.ssusd.org.
