Two arrested for felony possession

Two Ridgecrest men were arrested July 24 on charges relating to possession of drugs and firearms.
According to a press release from the Ridgecrest Police Depar-tment, officers were conducting a probation search at a home in the 400 block of North Norma Street.
Officers contacted several subjects inside the home and conducted a search that yielded some two ounces of suspected cocaine, a loaded .22-caliber revolver with the serial number removed, marijuana, hypodermic syringes, packaging and scales and a stolen laptop.
Gene Gerard III, 20, and Richard Waddell, 27, were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of marijuana for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gerard was booked and incarcerated into Kern County Jail. Waddell was released on bail.Story First Published: 2013-07-31
