An 11-year-old girl was pinned underneath a vehicle when a man suspected of driving under the influence crashed through her bedroom wall on July 27.

According to reports from the Ridgecrest Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 4:45 a.m. to a home on the 200 block of North Oasis Street. Upon arrival officers discovered that a vehicle allegedly driven by 43-year-old Stephan Anthony Mason of Ridgecrest had crashed through the wall of the residence, pinning the female minor beneath the car.

Officers began efforts to free the child, and were soon joined by Kern County Fire Department personnel, who used heavy equipment to lift the vehicle and free the child.

The girl was transported to Ridgecrest Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Mason was also free by KCFD and transported to RRH. He was medically cleared for booking and arrested on charges of driving under the influence, of causing injuries and for an outstanding warrant in Humboldt County.
