Museum to host trip to Pageant of the Masters
The Maturango Museum will host a trip on Saturday, Aug. 24, to Laguna Beach for the Festival of the Arts and Pageant of the Masters. Participants will ride in comfort on the Antelope Valley Airport Express coach. The Festival of the Arts displays are always popular and the evening program features a special concert from 7-8 p.m. and the Pageant of the Masters from 8:30-10 p.m.
The Pageant of the Masters program, entitled “The Big Picture,” will include 90 minutes of incredible living recreations of classical and contemporary works with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. It is performed in an outdoor amphitheater with a professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff and dedicated volunteers. The cost of this trip is $120 per member and $135 per nonmember. That price includes bus transportation and a ticket to the evening performances. Participants will meet at the museum at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. departure.
Early reservations are encouraged to get the best seats available for the evening concert and the Pageant of the Masters. Thirty tickets have been purchased initially by the museum for sale to the first participants to sign up. Once these tickets have been sold, the museum will purchase additional tickets if possible.
There will be no reserved seating on the bus. Participants are urged to wear comfortable walking shoes. For the evening concert and the Pageant of the Masters, they may want to bring binoculars to get an even better view of the show.
Lunch and dinner will be available from Tivoli Terrace or Gina’s Alfresco Italian Cuisine restaurants located at the festival site. There are free shuttle buses to adjacent art exhibits and to downtown Laguna Beach.
If the museum cancels the trip, participants will be refunded the transportation portion of the trip or may transfer that amount of money to a different trip.
There will be no refund for the $60 ticket to the special concert and the Pageant of the Masters, but purchasers can still use their tickets.
If ticket holders need to cancel, there will be no refund unless the trip is full and the space can be resold. In that case they will receive a full refund.
